Release date: December 28th 2020

Welcome to my HAProxy Server series. In this sub-section I will show how I installed the Ubuntu Server 20.04 that will host my HAProxy Server. The Ubuntu server installation is pretty “vanilla” and I will do a quick walk-through below. Once the virtual machine is powered on with the Ubuntu Server ISO-file attached, the installation wizard launches. In the language selection menu I choose English…

As I live in Norway i select Norwegian keyboard…

Next, I configure the network settings with the correct ip-address, subnet, gateway etc…

I wont be using a proxy, Done…

I select the default archive mirror for Ubuntu, Done…

For this set up, I will let the installer consume my entire disk, Done…

In the Profile Setup screen I enter username and password, Done…

I select «Install OpenSSH server, Done…

The installation of Ubuntu server now proceeds with setting up my server based on my selections above, once it’s finished i click Reboot…

This finishes my session about installing Ubuntu server 20.04 to host my HAProxy server. I can now continue with installing and configuring HAProxy and LetsEncrypt. This is posted here: HAProxy
