VMware App Volumes 2.xx – Capture Drivers AppStack

Welcome to my VMware App Volumes series. In this session I will create an AppStack with drivers for the Contour Pointing Devices in it. Before I can start capturing a new AppStack, I power up the W10APPVCAPTURE-vm.

I first log into App Volumes Manager and go to Volumes, click “Create” in AppStacks

I give the new AppStack a name and description. The default path will work just fine.

Now I head over to my W10APPVCAPTURE vm and open VMware Remote Console. As we can see from the info-prompt, we are now in provisioning mode.

Now that my new AppStack is provisioned, I can assign it to users

I search the domain for my test user, Assign

I confirm Assign with “Attach AppStacks on next login or reboot”

If I log in to one of my desktop pools with a test-user, I now see that the new AppStack is attached and the drivers are available.
