Release date: September 4th 2022
Welcome to my VMware App Volumes series. The new version of VMware App Volumes, 2206, was GA on July 19th 2022, with the version being 220.127.116.11. This version includes new features as Apps On Demand, as well as bug fixes etc. The Release Notes can be reviewed here: VMware App Volumes 4, version 2206.
In this section I will describe how I upgraded my VMware App Volumes infrastructure to v. 2206 (18.104.22.168), but first, at what point in an upgrade procedure should we upgrade the VMware App Volumes Components? According to VMware’s official documentation, this should be done as shown below.
Before beginning the upgrade, I also verify that the upgrade path is supported in the VMware Interoperability Matrix
The procedure used for upgrading is as follows:
- Upgrade HAProxy Load Balancer
- Upgrade Manager
- Upgrade Agent
- Update Applications
