VMware DEM – Upgrade to v. 2312

Release date: January 30th 2024

Welcome to my VMware Dynamic Environment Manager series. The new version of DEM, v. 2312 Build 10.12.0.1133, was GA on January 23rd 2024. In this section I will describe how I upgraded my VMware DEM Set Up to v. 2312. But first, at what point in an upgrade procedure should we upgrade the VMware DEM Components? According to VMware’s official documentation, this should be done as shown below.

According to the release notes, it is only the main products that are updated in this version.

• Support for users to reset multiple profile archives at a time from the DEM Self-Support Tool
• Updated Components. This release updates the main product components. Application Profiler, Helpdesk Support Tool, and SyncTool are not updated for the 2309 release.

Upgrade procedure:

1. Agent
2. Manager
3. GPO Templates
4. Application Profiler (No upgrade available)
