VMware Horizon – Upgrade Horizon Agent to v. 2103

Release date: April 10th 2021

Welcome to my VMware Horizon series. In this session I will describe how I upgraded the VMware Horizon Agent in my template to v. 2103.

First, I power up the template and open Remote Console. I copy the installer I downloaded from MyVmware to a temp-folder inside the template

Before I launch the installer, I can verify the existing installed version in Control Panel

Launch the VMware Horizon Agent installation wizard, Next…

I accept the terms in the License Agreement, Next…

I’m still using IPv4, Next…

I will continue using the same settings I did when I installed the agent the first time, Next…

The default installation-path is as good as any, Install…

When the installer finishes, I restart the template

UpgradeAgent-09

After the template has rebooted, I verify the new version in Control Panel

Finally, I shutdown, take a new snapshot and redeploy the desktop pool. The last task when upgrading VMware Horizon, is to upgrade the clients. As I use a local client repository for this, I will proceed with upgrading the repository, posted here: VMware Horizon – Upgrade Horizon Client repository
