VMware App Volumes 2.xx – Install

Welcome to my VMware App Volumes series. In this session I will describe how I installed App Volumes. After finishing my preparations, I can now begin to install my design.

During my preparations, I downloaded the App Volumes iso-file. I open Windows explorer and browse to the download-location

When unpacked the iso contains the following folders

I start the installation by running setup.exe from the Installation-folder

The installation wizard opens

I accept the terms, Next

I select App Volumes Manager, Install

I select «Connect to an existing SQL Server Database», as I created a database during my preparations, Next

I fill in my database-information, Next

In this lab I will be using HTTPS, Next

Default destination folder is a good a location as any, Next…

After the installation finishes, I make sure to open for HTTPS port 443 in my Windows firewall. My next step will be to configure App Volumes, covered here:
