Release date: March 18th 2020
Welcome to my VMware Horizon series. In this session I will describe how I upgraded my VMware Horizon View GPO Templates
This is what VMware’s release notes say about the Horizon GPO Bundle
VMware’s Release Notes for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.12
In order to upgrade the VMware Horizon View GPO’s, I login into one of my Active Directory servers. I copy the VMware-Horizon-Extras-Bundle-5.4.0-15805437 file to a temp-folder and extract it.
I first copy and replace all the admx-files to my Central Store location, in my LAB this will be: “C:\Windows\SYSVOL\sysvol\ad.admin.frelab.net\Policies\PolicyDefinitions”
Finally, I copy and replace the adml-files from the en-US folder to “C:\Windows\SYSVOL\sysvol\ad.admin.frelab.net\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US”
This concludes my session about upgrading the GPO Bundle to v. 7.12, I can now proceed with upgrading the Horizon Agent, posted here: VMware Horizon – Upgrade Horizon Agent to v. 7.12
