VMware Horizon – Setup Windows 10 template – Install Windows

Release date: January 14th 2019

Welcome to my VMware Horizon series. In this session I will describe how I installed Windows 10 Build 1809.

After I finished creating my VM in my previous session, I’m now ready to install Windows. I have my ISO-file attached and power up the template. It immediately starts installing Windows

I select regional settings to suite my nationality.

I click “Install now”

I select my preferred OS-version, in this LAB I choose Window 10 Pro

I accept Terms, click Next

I select “Custom: Install windows Only”

I choose my one and only partition, Next

The Windows installation starts

When i arrive at the Basics-screen below, I press CTRL-SHIFT-F3 to enter Audit Mode

In Windows, I click Cancel in the Sysprep dialogue box, and Yes to be discoverable.

That concludes my session about how I installed Windows in my template. My next logical step will be customizing Windows, covered here: VMware Horizon View Setup Template – Customize Windows
