VMware DEM – Upgrade GPO Templates to v. 9.11

Welcome to my VMware Dynamic Environment Manager series. In this session I will describe how I upgraded the VMware DEM GPO templates to v. 9.11.

 

I first log in to one of my Active Directory servers, browse to the temporary folder where I downloaded the VMware-DEM-9.11-GA.zip file and extract it.

 

Under the VMware-DEM-9.11-GA folder, there is a folder called Administrative Templates (ADMX). This is where the updated admx-templates are situated.

Next,I copy and replace all the admx-files to my Central Store location, in my LAB this will be: “C:\Windows\SYSVOL\sysvol\ad.admin.frelab.net\Policies\PolicyDefinitions”

 

Finally, I copy and replace the adml-files from the en-US folder to “C:\Windows\SYSVOL\sysvol\ad.admin.frelab.net\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US”
