Release date: January 10th 2019
Welcome to my VMware Dynamic Environment Manager series. In this session I will describe how I did the DEM Management Console configuration-phase.
I log into the file server where I installed the DEM Management Console. At first launch of the DEM Management Console, I’m met with dialog box asking me for the location of the “UEM Configuration Share”. In my LAB this will be the share I created in DFS: \\ad.admin.frelab.net\dfs\UEM\UemConfig
I now run Easy Start
I choose Office 2013 & 2016
Next I will download some extra Config Templates
I enter my login-credentials to MyVmware
I choose a couple of Configuration Templates, Save and Close
Next I will create a configuration file for Windows 10 Start Menu Settings
I click “Create Config File” button, choose “Use a Windows Common Setting“
I enter in a somewhat descriptive name and title
We can now configure this from the menu on the left
As far as this LAB is concerned, I won’t go into a Deep-Dive covering all the details about configuring different aspect of DEM, but I will refer to VMware’s own documentation about configuring the DEM Management Console here: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-User-Environment-Manager/index.html
