VMware UEM – Prepare

Welcome to my VMware User Environment Manager series, how I setup “UEM” in my LAB. In this session I will describe how I did the preparations-phase.

Preparing for the VMware UEM setup is not very difficult. The job can be divided into 3 parts:

  1. Configure File Server DFS
  2. Configure File Server Shares/Permissions
  3. Configure GPO/Scripts

Some basic knowledge about Windows Files Shares and Group-Policy’s are required. So, what I need to before preparations are the following:

  • Deploy file-servers
  • Download Installation media including GPO-Templates
