Release date: November 21st 2018
Welcome to my vRealize Operations Manager series, how I setup “vRops” in my LAB. In this session I will describe how I did the preparations-phase.
First I download necessary files from My VMware
Second, I add a DNS-entry with the IP-address and hostname I decided on during the planning phase.
Finally, I create the user in vCenter I need for connecting vRealize Operations Manager to my vCenter. This user will be used during configuration of vRealize Operations Manager in a separate post. As this is my LAB-environment, I create a vsphere.local user. I could also have setup a Windows domain user for this purpose.
I add my new user to the Administrators group in vsphere.local.
Now, I can proceed to the next step of installing, covered in my next post here: VMware vRealize Operations Manager Install
