Release date: April 14th 2020
Welcome to my VMware vSphere series. As many of my visitors gather, I work mainly with Digital Workspace tasks. Recently although, I got an error with SEAT Disk Exhaustion on my vCenter Appliance as shown below.
I proceeded with checking out the disk-status in vSphere
As I don’t see any real crisis in vSphere, I login with SSH and check the disk usage. As we can see the /storage/seat partition is above 80% usage.
To remediate this situation, I extend the Hard Disk for this partition from 10 GB to 15 GB
Back in Putty, I run the autogrow.sh script to increase the partition:
/usr/lib/applmgmt/support/scripts/autogrow.sh
As we can see below, the partition nicely expands and the usage is down from 80 % to 53 %.
The same disk usage is reported in vSphere.
With that, the problem was fixed. A BIG thanks goes out to Alexander Ganser for his post about increasing disk space on VCSA 6.7, posted here: Increase Disk Space on VCSA 6.7
