Release date: September 5th 2022
Welcome to my VMware Workspace ONE Access series. In this section I will posts how I upgraded my Workspace ONE Access Connector servers to v. 21.08. As always before I do an upgrade, I make sure to have a good working backup, and take a quick snapshot before I start the upgrade.
Before I start the upgrade, I review VMware’s documentation about this topic here: Performing the Upgrade to Workspace ONE Access Connector 21.08
As we can see below, I’m currently running on version 20.10.00.
I start out by downloading the installation media from VMware Customer Connect and move this to the folder containing the configuration json-file and Root CA certificate.
The installer identifies that I’m missing a .Net component and offers to remediate this, Install…
I click Yes to reboot
Once the server has rebooted, the installer detects my older version and offers to upgrade this, OK…
The Installation Wizard launches, Next…
Accept the License Agreement, Next…
In the Service Selection window, I select the services for my installation, Next…
The installer correctly identifies my configuration json-file and prompts for a password, Next…
In this session I select Custom Installation, to show the different parameters that is possible to change during this upgrade, Next…
I don’t use Proxy, Next…
I don’t have Syslog, Next…
I click Browse to select my CA Root certificate…
At this point it is possible to change the default ports, I’ll leave them as is, Next…
As I will be using the Self-Signed Certificate, Next…
Yes…
Provide a credential for the Kerberos Auth Service Account, Next…
All done, Install…
Finish…
Once done, I reboot the connector server and verify that the new services starts up normally.
I can also verify that all my connectors are now running the correct version and working flawless in the Workspace One Access Console.
